Welcome Sara Kirk, ​Zoning Administrator

We are pleased to announce the hiring of a new Zoning Administrator, Sara Kirk. Sara will also serve as a member of the Benzie County Planning Commission and assist with updating the master plan.

Sara R. Kirk, ASLA, LEED AP, is a landscape architect and founder of SRP Design Studio. She is a member of the American Society of Landscaping Architects and holds licenses in Michigan and Tennessee.
​Sara graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture with a specialization in environmental studies. Her areas of focus include park and recreation, community planning, site design and streetscape projects. Sara has extensive experience with sustainable design, in both planning and implementation.

We are thrilled Sara has joined the Village of Benzonia team. ​

Description of Benzonia


Benzonia is quaint village located approximately 7 miles from Lake Michigan and 1 mile from Crystal Lake. The village is adorned with cute shops, delicious restaurants and two parks. Benzonia is perfect for living and visiting!

The newly renovated Mills Community House holds a library and many community events.
